The composer Pip Gresley developed a radical electronic operatic score exploring corporate and nationalistic conflict. The televisual environment employed by the Producer provided many of the dramatic contextual images required for the piece, although continuity demanded visual linkage and the story-line required additional metaphors and icons. We were commissioned by Channel 4 Television to understand the objectives of the opera and to conceive and build a series of architectural, graphic and combat components to assist the visual continuity of the unfolding operatic drama.
